I am now visiting the with Deanne and Jim Bates at the Strawbale Studio in Michigan, just north of Detroit - here is the information that Deanne provided to invite local people to join us for workshops and openspace meetings during this weekend:
Richard Nelson, inventor of the Agripod Greenhouse -- has open source concepts for generating energy, food, and using some very cool bio-mimicry techniques. See the links below.
Come and meet him if you can this Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday to discuss the posibilites of dyi or commercial application. You could email Richard directly at solaroof@gmail.com and skype at solaroof.
Hello from Deanne at the Strawbale Studio,
I want to let you know about the Agripod, an integrated greenhouse...and also let you know that the inventor, Richard Nelson will be coming to the Strawbale Studio (outside Oxford, MI, 1 hour north of Detroit) on Friday 7pm for a gathering of folks who are interested in learning about this concept.
The zero fossil fuel Agripod is a greenhouse which mimics nature, has bubbles in between the skins of plastic which moderate high & low temps like the earths' cloud layer, and includes algae to methane, energy and food production, aquaculture.
The first prototypes are being built in Oslo Norway. In the midwest some folks looking at constructing small and large scale pre-production protypes.

Might you have some interest in learning more about this, or have connections to other folks who might be interested.
Would you be interested in attending if this meeting happens? Know of others who may be interested? You can pass this email on to them. Would you like to be on a contact list for future meetings as they occur?
