After several years of studying and exploring sustainable living practices, the opportunity to design and build an ecovillage facility has arrived. Several appropriate and "open-source" technologies will be employed, with customization to the environment and requirements at hand. I hope to employ Sola Roof technology in varied applications. Phase two of the project will incorporate guest facilities for visitors and educational programmes, in which the Eco Sphere concept is a working model.

My intention is to maintain a log of progress and challenges, which may serve as discussion points for the wider community. I will draft a wiki page for this soon. Assistance in any capacity is welcome, including long-term on-site participation beginning spring 2007.
