I found a reference to what may be an open source 3D CAD system - the GEOM module of Salome: http://www.salome-platform.org/home/presentation/geom/ It was in connection to the OS Car ? project mentioned elsewhere. Salome has grander objectives (numerical simulation) but in the process they needed a 3D CAD - Bobby
